Ethan and Emily's Story
Ethan and Emily weren't exactly thrilled about the Bernardo de Gálvez essay contest. "Waste of time!" Ethan declared, slamming his history book shut. "How's this going to help us get into college or become pro athletes?" Emily chimed in.
But their family saw an opportunity. Aunt Maria, their history-buff aunt, stepped in: "What if I told you this essay is like a detective story? You get to uncover the secrets of a real-life hero who helped America win its independence!"
Grandma, the retired librarian, added, "You might even discover a hidden passion or talent you never knew you had!"
Suddenly, Ethan and Emily's eyes lit up. "Wait...we love detective stories!"
Grandpa, the former history professor, leaned in with a twinkle in his eye. "Maybe you'll even uncover some family secrets. Our ancestors might have crossed paths with Gálvez himself!"
