SPAIN SALUTES FCPS & LANGLEY — DISCOVER STUDENT DIPLOMACY IN ACTION
Langley to Liberty Trip — Update (October 6, 2025)
Trip postponed due to federal shutdown — rescheduling planned for spring 2026.
After careful consideration and in light of the ongoing National Park Service government shutdown alert, an unpredictable situation, the Langley to Liberty trip originally scheduled for Saturday, October 25 will be postponed.
Although the trip is still three weeks away, our travel company required final numbers and payment this week, which would mean committing funds before we know how the shutdown will unfold. To avoid possible disruptions to ferry service, park access, or the overall experience, we’ll hold off for now.
I’m already looking at alternative dates for spring 2026, when we can make the experience even stronger, building on everything we’ve learned and ensuring the full Liberty and Ellis Island visit our club envisioned.
Everyone who paid through MySchoolBucks should see their refund processed soon; if you experience any issues, please let me know.
Thank you for your understanding. The energy behind Langley to Liberty continues, and the best version of this trip is still ahead.
